ASHBURN/STERLING
MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING
Eastern Loudoun Wrestling Club and TOP have formed a partnership to grow and manage middle school wrestling teams in Ashburn and Sterling. This page provides general information on the program.
Practices/Competitions Teams practice 2-3 times a week at TOP or at local high school wrestling rooms. The season begins on November 6 and concludes in late February. In some cases, schools combine practice rooms to ensure enough workout partners for everyone. The exact schedule for each school/team is posted on the Eastern Loudoun web site. Registration is currently open. The middle school teams compete on weekends (usually Saturday) in TOP's Winter Wrestling Series. This is the premier youth wrestling league in the country. The teams also represent their schools in Dulles Duals. Finally, wrestlers can compete in the TOP Championships near the end of the season. Other optional opportunities will be available throughout the season as well. Uniforms and Equipment Uniforms consist of fight shorts and compression shirts (the latter is provided by the team). Required equipment is a headgear and wrestling shoes. We encourage you to purchase equipment at TOP in Sterling, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that offers gear at discounted prices. We will have special hours as the season approaches. Hours are always posted on this web site. Registration To join this team, you will register with Eastern Loudoun Wrestling Club. Click here for more information about ELWC and then simply register for the Middle School Division (if you attend one of these schools, you will automatically be assigned to this team unless you request otherwise due to schedule conflicts or other reasons). |
