DETAILS FOR SUNDAY'S EVENT
SESSION TIMES:
Morning Session: Weigh-ins from 8-9 AM. Wrestling to begin 10-10:30 PM
Afternoon Session: Weigh-ins from 1-2 PM. Wrestling to begin 3-3:30 PM
USA Wrestling Cards. Athletes must present current USA Wrestling Card (full membership) when checking in. A limited folkstyle membership is not sufficient. Please print card or have available on your phone. If you need to obtain card, visit www.usawmembership.com/login (note: anyone turning 18 before August 31 must complete SafeSport training to obtain a card).
No Shows. If you can't make it, please let us know in advance.
Arrival Time. Please do not arrive early for the afternoon session. We are operating under limited building occupancy due to state mandates and need the morning group to clear out. On the other hand, do not be late for weigh-ins or you may be scratched.
Parking. Our lot will fill up for the afternoon session. If so, we first recommend street parking on nearby Shepherd Drive. Otherwise, there is also overflow parking at Dulles Electric as indicated on this map (click here). Do not park elsewhere or risk being towed.
Spectators/Volunteers. One spectator per wrestler. Admission is $8 per person. Volunteers do not count as spectators (if you want two adults to attend). We still need scoretable workers, so email [email protected] if you're willing to volunteer. We will individually contact all volunteers today or tomorrow. All adults must pay Admission, except for coaches who do not have children competing. The CORT VIP Box and Matside Experience have been rented for all sessions.
Streaming/Brackets. We are expecting to live stream the four mats (click here). We are currently experiencing problems with WiFi connectivity and are working to have this resolved. As a result, we hope the stream is fine, and we may or may not use Track Wrestling for this event. If not, online viewers should check with wrestlers to find out mat and bout numbers. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Format. Each session will begin with the freestyle tourney, followed by the greco tourney. Since the turnout for greco was larger than expected, in most cases, we are shooting for 2-3 matches in each tourney. We realize many wrestlers are preparing for States next weekend, so to maximize the number of matches and to finish in a timely manner, we will not be handing out awards at this event.
