REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR THE FINAL WWS TOURNEYS---
Season Pass holders should use their coupon codes and are guaranteed acceptance as long as they register on time. All others are put on a Wait List and notified only if accepted. If you get placed on Wait List before the deadline, we can often tell you 5 days before the tourney if you'll be accepted. If not accepted then, you'll continue to be on wait list until the night before the tourney. If we can get you in, we'll notify you. Otherwise you will not hear from us. If you want removed from the wait list because you're making other plans, just let us know. Thank you.
HAMMER TIME (FEB 5)---Get on the Wait List!
NO HUGS & KISSES "NOVICE" TOURNEY (FEB 6)---Get on the Wait List!
Registration for the TOP Championships is open if you qualify by having attended 3 WWS or Dulles Duals events this season.
IMPORTANT POLICIES (PLEASE READ)
Registration Deadlines: Few exceptions, if any, are made for persons who miss registration deadlines. If TOP needs additional wrestlers in a certain weight class or if a participant can easily be accommodated, a late registrant may be accepted. However, there is a late fee of $15 to enter the tournament.
Registration windows are posted above. We don't want people signing up too far in advance and then forgetting about it (this used to happen all the time). While it may be more convenient to sign up for all events at one time, we've found this approach decreases "no-shows."
After the Registration Deadline, we immediately start working on brackets. Once finalized (no later than 2 days before the event), we email you a detailed schedule that includes your "time slot" which tells you when to arrive (this is also posted on our web site). In general, elementary school wrestlers (starting with lightweights) begin first in the morning, and middle school wrestlers (ending with heavier weights) wrap up the day. You can generally plan to compete around the same time at most WWS events, but we never know for sure until brackets are finalized. So you must be prepared to be somewhat flexible. If you discover the time slot doesn't work for you, you must let us know immediately.
Cancellations and No-Shows:
If you register for a WWS event and then must cancel, let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations should be rare, but if you must cancel after time slots are announced (usually on Thursdays), let us know right away (i.e., Thursday).
On the day before the event, there should be no cancellations except illness/injury or legitimate family emergencies. In all cases, please notify us ASAP so we can adjust brackets.
Although cancellations on the day of the event should also be rare, they are usually excused if you notify us more than two hours before the end of weigh-ins (but the sooner the better!). Again, this should only be due to sudden illness, game day injury, or family emergency. The only exception is Time Slot 1 wrestlers beginning first thing in the morning. Notifications 60 minutes before weigh-ins end are acceptable.
The only time we do not smile is when wrestlers fail to show up without notifying us. This results in a warning and inclusion our dreaded "watch list." If it happens again, the participant will not be allowed to compete. Again, we are sorry---we do this for the benefit of all the families who follow the process.
Late Arrivals at Tournaments:
If your wrestler arrives late for weigh-ins, he/she will automatically be put on "Standby." This means he/she may not get to wrestle. The exception is if we need them to complete a bracket (so that other wrestlers aren't adversely impacted). We will still weigh late arrivals (within reason) and let you know if they can participate as soon as we can.
Either way, the wrestler will receive a one-time warning. If it happens again, the wrestler will be prohibited from participating in future WWS events due to unreliability. The only exceptions to this policy would be paying a monetary penalty of $50 to be reinstated or volunteering to help at the event for at least two time slots (only if we need help). Again, this is a physical contact sport and match-ups are determined in advance. We will not risk safety or adversely impact coaches, families, and volunteers because someone doesn't arrive on time. Of course, we want every child to wrestle, but we won't negatively impact the vast majority of families for those who can't abide by our policies.
We don't mean to sound harsh, but traffic is not an excuse. Misreading emails is not an excuse. Parking is not an excuse (be sure to know where our overflow parking is). We do not want to scratch your late wrestler, but we will. Thanks to the vast majority of families who do this properly and make life easier for everyone involved!
Refund Policy----If you register and pay online for a specific tournament and cancel before the Registration Deadline, we will refund your registration fee less a small service charge to cover costs charged by our service provider. If you cancel after the registration deadline, there is no refund. There are no prorated refunds for Season or Winter Pass holders who don't attend events.
