WRESTLING REIMAGINED
Real wrestlers have never had the opportunity to compete in a top-notch, professional league. This is about to change with the Champions League of Action Wrestling (CLAW) set to debut in 2024.
Many critical factors must be addressed in launching a successful league, but it all begins with an exciting product that people enjoy watching. CLAW has created a new form of wrestling that features the most appealing aspects of folkstyle and freestyle wrestling while minimizing "boring" and "confusing" elements. CLAW has also introduced other innovations that produce action, scoring, and excitement.
Major Highlights:
#1 Every Point Counts. CLAW features dual meets between teams of 7 wrestlers. Every point scored by a wrestler is credited to his team, so there's always a reason to score as many points as possible.
#2 Every Period Counts. A wrestler wins a match by winning more periods than his opponent. In a way, each period is like a mini-match. There are four short periods, so wrestlers must "get after it." No more keeping it close and trying to win at the very end. If a tie results, overtime rules ensure the match is settled in a quick, dramatic fashion.
#3 New Ways to Score. To create more fan interest, CLAW has introduced two major ways to score points. If a wrestler scores in the first 15 seconds of any period, he is rewarded with a Quick Score Bonus (QSB) point. An even more popular fan favorite is the innovative Pylon Point. These new twists, along with more ways to score back points, means wrestling becomes a lot more interesting!
#4 Stalling is Not Tolerated. If the above isn't enough to encourage constant action, our new rules for stalling will do the trick. If a wrestler isn't continually working to score or improve a position, he will be warned for stalling. If he doesn't act quickly to rectify the problem, points are awarded. CLAW is not for wrestlers who "slow down" matches, take few shots, ride with no intent to turn, hang out on the bottom, etc. They will be punished on the scoreboard!
There are numerous other rule tweaks, but in summary, the CLAW rules dramatically change how a match is wrestled. There is a lot more action, and so it's far more entertaining for spectators!
MORE ON CLAW
An exciting product is essential, but there are many important issues that must be effectively addressed to launch a successful professional league. This begins with defining and building a brand that resonates with the public. Combined with an exciting annual draft and free agency system, meaningful schedule and playoffs, strong social media presence, cool uniforms and apparel/merchandise, fantasy leagues, exciting in-person events, well-produced broadcasts and streams, new statistics, reputable sponsorships, fan-engaging activities throughout the year, shrewd marketing strategies, and compensation methods that attract exciting and top athletes----we are confident CLAW will appeal to persons who appreciate real wrestling (a market of approximately 30-40 million persons in the U.S. alone) while attracting the even larger audiences of MMA, football and other sports enthusiasts.
During 2023, CLAW will continue to test and refine rules along with progressing on many of the items listed above. The first CLAW Draft is planned for the spring of 2024, followed by the inaugural season beginning in the fall of 2024.
